The Performance Art Institute invites you to join us for an interdisciplinary conversation on art and mourning moderated by artist and writer Maria Porges. Author, Cooley Windsor will read his short story “50 Blue” from his most recent collection of short stories Visit me in California. Curator and writer, Adrienne Skye Roberts will discuss the role of art as a witness to mourning through Linda Montano’s 1977 video, “Mitchell’s Death”. Artist, Julia Goodman will reflect on examples of collective mourning in both the Jewish Traditions and the Chilean Mural Movement 1970’s to present.

The event is produced in conjunction with Everything is Always Moving, a solo-exhibition by Julia Goodman, on view at the Performance Art Institute through April 30, 2011.
